Cole is doing well and is strong & healthy right now so we are all really happy. He is really thinking hard about crawling (rolling over from his tummy to his back, kicking his legs while on his tummy), and is still happy as ever. Tomorrow is a long day for us- he's getting his Vinblastin and labs taken in the morning and then has an ultrasound in the afternoon. Doc agreed to do an ultrasound and an x-ray instead of a CT scan since he is doing well and the last CT didn't show a lot since Cole is still getting anaesthesia which is clouding up the scan. Hopefully he can see his organs better with the ultrasound since he won't need any anaesthesia with it.
We are heading up to Tahoe right after the clinic and hospital, that is if Cole doesn't need a blood transfusion on Thursday, to spend the 4th with Holly's parents. Ruby will spend the whole next week with them and give Holly a break from our energetic, strong-willed 3 year old! We are looking forward to spending time with Holly's parents and doing all sorts of activities!
Happy 4th to all our friends & family!
About Cole Kambeitz
- Holly Kambeitz
- Cole Jonathan Kambeitz was born October 5th, 2008. He was born with chicken pox-like lesions on his skin. After a CT scan, MRI, x-ray, ultrasound, and a biopsy, he was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Hystiocytosis (LCH) at 3 days old. It affects his skin, liver and lungs. He completed treatment of 1 year of chemo and steroids and after a liver biopsy in late November '09 confirming no active disease, he is officially in remission. Today he is a very happy boy, excited to explore the world.
