About Cole Kambeitz

My photo
Cole Jonathan Kambeitz was born October 5th, 2008. He was born with chicken pox-like lesions on his skin. After a CT scan, MRI, x-ray, ultrasound, and a biopsy, he was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Hystiocytosis (LCH) at 3 days old. It affects his skin, liver and lungs. He completed treatment of 1 year of chemo and steroids and after a liver biopsy in late November '09 confirming no active disease, he is officially in remission. Today he is a very happy boy, excited to explore the world.

Biopsy

I know it has been a long time since we posted and that is good- things with Cole have been great.  He has had a rash on the top of his head though for the last 2 years or so that his oncologist has not been concerned about and does not think it is LCH related.  We are wanting to be extra careful though and not take any chances and are having it biopsied this Friday at 1:30.  It will be done in the new Kaiser building with topical anethesia- if Cole cannot handle this we will have to do general and have him be in-patient.  We will try this first.  Joe will be entertaining Cole with Clifford the Big Red Dog on his Notebook computer and hope this distracts him enough!  Please keep Cole in your thoughts and prayers on Friday.
