Cole is doing very well these days. We have had some difficulty keeping his catheter unclotted causing some long mornings at the clinic but that is nothing to complain about too much! This is happening b/c his line is extremely small and the smaller the line, the easier it is to clot. If it is clotted, we cannot draw blood or administer his chemo.
On a good note, Nurse Marta said his counts have been looking so good lately that she thinks we might only have to turn in labs every 3 wks - before he gets his chemo instead of every week. Yay! This would mean less time at the clinic and less chance of having to unclot his catheter.
Cole is growing very well, up to 14lbs and is a very happy baby. He loves to smile, laugh, play and watch TV. He is starting to reach for things and will start eating solids next month, thank goodness!
We all had a nice time over the weekend with Mom and Dad at their place in Tahoe and at the Peppermill in Reno. Joe and I got some free time and were able to have a little fun playing some slots and drinking free (well, somewhat free) drinks! Dad and Joe managed to win $200 between the 2 of them at BJ which was the highlight of the trip!

- Cole Jonathan Kambeitz was born October 5th, 2008. He was born with chicken pox-like lesions on his skin. After a CT scan, MRI, x-ray, ultrasound, and a biopsy, he was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Hystiocytosis (LCH) at 3 days old. It affects his skin, liver and lungs. He completed treatment of 1 year of chemo and steroids and after a liver biopsy in late November '09 confirming no active disease, he is officially in remission. Today he is a very happy boy, excited to explore the world.

I'm so glad to read Cole's improvement. I'm waiting for Holly to join me on the "run". If sweet baby Cole is doing better and better each time, my chances of running with Holly improves!!
