About Cole Kambeitz

My photo
Cole Jonathan Kambeitz was born October 5th, 2008. He was born with chicken pox-like lesions on his skin. After a CT scan, MRI, x-ray, ultrasound, and a biopsy, he was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Hystiocytosis (LCH) at 3 days old. It affects his skin, liver and lungs. He completed treatment of 1 year of chemo and steroids and after a liver biopsy in late November '09 confirming no active disease, he is officially in remission. Today he is a very happy boy, excited to explore the world.

4/5, Sunday- 6 month birthday!

We are excited that we are half way through Cole's treatment! Even better is that he is doing so well. He recovered from his surgery very well and was back to his norm the next day. It is a lot easier having the Port and he is handling it just fine. He is scheduled to go into the clinic for his Vinblastin on the 13th, assuming that his counts will be fine. We will most likely take him in for a blood draw on the 12th to make sure his counts are fine and then go from there. There is a chance he might need a transfusion since he hasn't had one in a couple months but he is looking really healthy lately so hopefully not!

April 16th is his next CT scan so that is next on our calendar.
