About Cole Kambeitz

My photo
Cole Jonathan Kambeitz was born October 5th, 2008. He was born with chicken pox-like lesions on his skin. After a CT scan, MRI, x-ray, ultrasound, and a biopsy, he was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Hystiocytosis (LCH) at 3 days old. It affects his skin, liver and lungs. He completed treatment of 1 year of chemo and steroids and after a liver biopsy in late November '09 confirming no active disease, he is officially in remission. Today he is a very happy boy, excited to explore the world.

2/4/10- X-ray results

I took Cole to get his x-ray on Tuesday. He hadn't had one since he was first born since CT's or ultrasounds have always been requested instead. He HATED it. They put him in this contraption where he was basically sitting on a "seat" that was between his legs and there were these two plastic "doors" that closed around him tightly. He had to have his arms straight up, which I held up, for about 2 minutes while they took ran the test. He screamed and screamed but luckily it was short and they got the scans they wanted with one try. The people working in the room next to us could here him loud and clear and one of them came over and gave Cole his first lollipop. This made Cole's day as he had a smile on his face the entire time and finished the whole thing!

I talked with Dr. Goodman today and she said "They are reading it as negative. So, good news." This is what we expected to hear since his ultrasound gave us the same results and we were happy to get these results. We are not sure what the next test will be but will meet with Dr. Goodman toward the middle of Feb. and talk about it then.

Please continue to pray for our little guy. This will be a life long journey and we always need to remember who our Rock is.
