So we completed our hike to the bridge (approx 2.5 miles) for 2010's Hike for a Cure. Cole took the opportunity to take a nice long nap on Mommy's back while Joe brought up the rear with Ruby and her friend Ainsly.
At the bridge we all rested and had lunch. Cole found that he had a fear of squirrels that were brave enough to walk up to him. Ruby and Ainsly had fun in the river - Ainsley a little too much fun when she fell in and got all wet.
Cole decided to pack on daddy's back on the way back and when we got to the river decided that throwing rocks in a river is the best fun in his life. When dad tried to pull him away he threw the biggest fit.
Coming back to the home camp Cole decided to see if Coal Miner sheik is the hot new look as he threw dirt and dust all over himself.
Dinner and more families were met as the kids were playing on the rocks. Joe found two other families with children who had LCH. One was a Gap clothing model and the other family had a child they adopted from Ethopia who happened to have LCH. What an amazing story of redemption and rescue knowing that that child most likely would not be alive today in Africa, but is doing well on treatment.
So many great stories so much joy knowing that this hike raised money to help fund the next treatment study and research for a cure.
Thank you all who donated, we appreciate your support and know that you are making a difference.
