So today was a big day for Holly - she got to spend almost all day at the clinic (not the hospital) getting Cole's blood matched and a red blood cell transfusion. Last time we did this in the hospital and were able to go out and about, but this time we did it in the clinic which unfortunately doesn't have onsite nurses that watch babies.
We were very blessed to Emily from church watch Ruby all day...Ruby had so much fun over there playing. And Holly was able to spend some quality time napping and reading while the transfusion was going on.. Basically from 9:30 to 5:00pm.
Holly remarked that she was able to see the color returning to Cole as the transfusion was happening.. Nice to see life flowing back into a body..
So that's it for us today..
Oh and some good news Ruby went #2 for the first time on the potty chair.. wow.. so much fun!!

- Cole Jonathan Kambeitz was born October 5th, 2008. He was born with chicken pox-like lesions on his skin. After a CT scan, MRI, x-ray, ultrasound, and a biopsy, he was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Hystiocytosis (LCH) at 3 days old. It affects his skin, liver and lungs. He completed treatment of 1 year of chemo and steroids and after a liver biopsy in late November '09 confirming no active disease, he is officially in remission. Today he is a very happy boy, excited to explore the world.
