About Cole Kambeitz

My photo
Cole Jonathan Kambeitz was born October 5th, 2008. He was born with chicken pox-like lesions on his skin. After a CT scan, MRI, x-ray, ultrasound, and a biopsy, he was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Hystiocytosis (LCH) at 3 days old. It affects his skin, liver and lungs. He completed treatment of 1 year of chemo and steroids and after a liver biopsy in late November '09 confirming no active disease, he is officially in remission. Today he is a very happy boy, excited to explore the world.

Sunday 12/28

A few days after Christmas and little man is doing strong. His dad got the flu the Friday before Christmas and was out of action for 3 days and a few more days before he was back to normal. Praise God Cole didn't catch the flu.

The Kambeitzes were going to spend Christmas day with Joe's mom and dad but the snowstorm up north kept them from coming down. After going to Christmas Eve service at church, Paul and Courtney Ebner invited us over to her parents house for Christmas. It was really nice and the food was great. Lots of kids running around and Ruby had a great time trying to play the piano. It was a great evening to relax and sit at the kids table for Christmas. One of the Pastor Emeritus was there Brian Jefferey Leach (sp?). We got to talk to him for a while too. He writes hymns and is extremly talented. All in all a great evening and quite a suprise from what we had expected.

Next week we hope to head over to Tahoe if Cole doesn't need a transfusion. He's being doing good after chemo, but about every 3rd week he needs a red-blood cell transfusion. You can literally see the color coming back to his body after it goes through.

Everything else is great and we are looking forward to 2nd week of January to see how Cole's CT scan show progress on the liver nodules.

All prayers are a go that all y'all will successfully journey to Incline Village, and that Cole's next liver scan will show all clear! Looking forward to the next update! Much love, Uncle Dan & Lynne
