1/4/09- Sunday- Successful trip to Tahoe!

Hi Everyone- Well, the Dr.'s gave us the go ahead since Cole's counts have been good and he had his first trip to Tahoe Wednesday-Sunday and got to see the snow! He slept all the way from Oakland to Truckee (3 1/2 hours) which was nice for Mom and Dad. We did have a little accident with one of his meds prednisolone which spilled out in the cooler and made everything sticky New Year's Eve. We tried to get more New Year's Day but none of the pharmacies were open so we had to miss his doses that day and get back on schedule the next day. Could've been worse! Uncle Rick and Aunt Lecia got to meet Cole for the first time and enjoyed that. What a special trip for our family since we never get to see them. Ruby sure clung to Auntie Lecia!! Thanks Lecia for helping so much!! Ruby also loved the snow but wasn't too sure about the sledding idea- she cried the first time down the hill with Daddy and then had a very unhappy look on her face the rest of the time at the sled hill! We think what she likes best is just stomping around in her big pink boots!!

This is a big week for Cole. This week ends his second round of six weeks of chemo and he has his CT scan on Thursday to see the status of the lesions on his lungs and liver. (Remember they were mostly gone on his lungs and definitely showed some clearing on his liver). Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers on this day! We head back to the clinic tomorrow morning to drop off lab work to see how his counts are. There is a good chance he will need a transfusion Tuesday which is when he is also planned to have his chemo. They can do both on the same day.
