Today was the first time Cole needed a blood transfusion in 6 weeks which is great and as we were told before, is part of the healing process. Holly & Cole were at the clinic from 1:30-5:30 and it wasn't too bad b/c Holly got to nap for an hour which was much needed. She is appreciating the time before he starts to be more mobile b/c it will be so much harder to keep him still and in one place for hours. Fortunately, as he gets bigger, they can pump the blood through him quicker. All we do is sit in the recliner and let the blood flow through into his body. It is quite relaxing but just time consuming!
The new maintenance program has been quite a bit easier on all of us and Cole doesn't seem to be needing his old schedule of meds. He was seen by Dr. Kronish today and he remarked how good he looked and we were all happy with his weight which is now 12 lbs 5 oz. He originally wanted to plan another CT scan for March but now wants to hold out until April.
We are enjoying the warm California weather lately and look forward to 70 degrees next week!
