Today was Cole's 2nd chemo treatment - our first time watching it and being there. It was really not a big deal watching him or having him get the chemo, just a clear tube of liquid injected in his Broviac tube.
We got an update from the doctor as follows:
- Bilirubin a secretion from the liver is the same as it was - not better yet, not worse either - this is the key thing to watch
- White blood counts - low - need to get special drug that we are getting trained to administer tomorrw. it's natural that this drops from chemo.
- Platelets - fine (normally drops after chemo)
- MRI - scan shows nothing in the brain - good news
- Bone marrow - still waiting for the results from the boney portion of the bone - the liquid portion showed nothing
Took home more supplies so we can do the blood draws for the labs and keep his stuff clean
Another 3 hour journey to the hospital. At least we get free parking :)
